You really can’t beat the location of Pen & Cob, especially on a sunny day! Right by the river at the Swan Hotel and such a lovely spot to sit outside with a cocktail and watch the world go by. The terrace is probably my favourite thing about the place, especially when the swans are swimming past! They’ve got a really nice selection of drinks and the food menu has plenty of choice too, from a relaxed brunch to a proper Sunday lunch. It’s a little more of a treat than your usual pub, but the riverside setting makes it feel special. Lovely for a catch up with friends or a drink after wandering along the Embankment. One of those Bedford spots that’s all about making the most of the river!
