Why We Created Visit Bedford
Like many families in Bedford, we often found ourselves asking the same question at the weekend:
“What shall we do today?”
With young children, we’re always looking for somewhere new to explore, whether that’s a park, café, family attraction, museum, riverside walk or somewhere to grab lunch afterwards. Time and again, we’d type “things to do in Bedford” into Google, hoping to discover somewhere we’d never been before.
The problem was that the results were rarely satisfying.
Information was scattered across dozens of different websites. Some pages were years out of date, others only listed a handful of attractions, and many fantastic local businesses simply didn’t appear at all. We knew Bedford had so much more to offer than what people were finding online.
That’s when the idea for Visit Bedford was born.
