Whether you’re an experienced sailor or completely new to watersports, Priory Sailing Club offers a welcoming environment to get out on the water. The club provides sailing for all ages, with training courses, racing, family-friendly events and opportunities to learn in a safe and supportive setting.
Its location within Priory Country Park means you can easily combine a visit with a lakeside walk, picnic or stop at one of the nearby cafés, making it more than just a sailing venue. With beautiful scenery, plenty of wildlife and a friendly community, it’s a fantastic place to discover a new hobby, improve your skills or simply enjoy one of Bedford’s most picturesque outdoor locations.
Priory Sailing Club is a brilliant community club and a great place to get into sailing without the expense of owning your own boat. Members have access to club boats, so you can get out on the water regularly and build your confidence without worrying about maintenance and storage.
The club offers great value, with courses and training often included as part of membership. What I particularly like is the way experienced members who have completed RYA instructor training help run courses for younger and newer sailors. It creates a really friendly, supportive atmosphere where people share their experience and help each other improve.
Whether you’re completely new to sailing or looking to develop your skills, Priory is a welcoming club with a genuine community feel.
