One of our favourite places for a walk and coffee

18 October 2026

Millennium Country Park is such a lovely place to have just outside Bedford! We usually know it as the Forest Centre at Marston Moretaine and itโ€™s a great spot when you fancy getting out for a few hours. The walks around the lakes are beautiful and thereโ€™s loads of different paths to explore, whether youโ€™re taking the dog, pushing a buggy or just fancy some fresh air. The kids love the big play area and the cafe is really handy for a coffee and a slice of cake afterwards. Love sitting outside when the weathers nice and watching the world go by. The wetlands are worth exploring too, especially if you enjoy spotting birds and wildlife. Itโ€™s nice that you can make a whole morning of it without spending much, apart from parking and whatever treats you end up buying haha! Such a peaceful little escape from Bedford town centre and somewhere thatโ€™s lovely throughout the year.
